School Days

So Wednesday marks the completion of the first full week of school so it's probably about time I post the pictures from the first day of school. Here are my second grader and kindergartener all ready to go. Notice Rachel's enthusiasm and Connor's lack thereof. I later found out he was just nervous. He told me his tummy hurt as we got out of the car. I was able to tell him it was just jitters and that it would go away soon. Rachel on the other hand was rearing to go and wasn't scared about her first day at all. She was so happy to finally be going to school! She's been waiting for her turn for a few years now since she's had to watch her brother go all this time.

Connor is thrilled to have a teacher who is into nature and animals. When we went to meet the teacher day, his teacher said that she would be bringing animals in throughout the year, dead and alive. Connor kept repeating that to everyone he saw until school started. I think he was a tad bit excited about it. His teacher also has two turtles in the classroom and since Connor has one at home he wondered if he could bring Gary (his turtle) in for a play date.

Isn't she just adorable? Her teacher calls her a doll. I'd have to biasly agree. On Friday I asked her how her day went and she replied, "I didn't have to put my head on my desk like some of the other kids did." I told her its because she makes good choices. No time like the present to give her that boost. Right? (You will make good choices, you will make good choices! If I think it enough it'll happen. I have to at least try!)

Here's a shot of Rachel in line all grown up and going to her classroom. I had to bite my lip as she walked away so the tears wouldn't come. It didn't help much that Drew cried too. The two of us had to turn around and go back to the car all alone. We have been able to cope, and I do think Drew enjoys having a little one on one time with Mommy. Plus, he can watch all the "Elmo" he wants now that his big brother and sister have all grown up and gone to school.

I almost forgot, for some reason, the link from your blog to mine has disapeared. It did that on Loree's blog too. Anyways I updated my blog On Monday.

Those two school kids are REALLY cute (the younger) and good-looking (the older). It was fun to see Johnson in the background.
Next time, try to slip one in of Drew, whether he fits with the theme or not...we want to see him.
We miss all of you!
